Using Plastic Chain for Barriers

Using Plastic Chain for Barriers

Posted by Chain Direct on 19th Aug 2021

With the ongoing Covid 19 lockdown restrictions proving to be a huge challenge for all forms of businesses, in particular retail stores, as it is often difficult to define what is essential and what is not and how to handle access to store areas.

Woolworths Big W were faced with just such a difficult problem in their stores as they have a mix of essential and non-essential items throughout each location. Meaning that some areas of the store were allowed to open and other areas had to close.

After discussing their situation and assessing their needs, a solution was found using our plastic chain to create access control barriers that could be placed and moved around the store and needed.

As a result, they have recently purchased from Chain Direct in excess of 25,000 meters of red and white plastic chain to enable Big W stores nationally to section off the non-essential departments.

By doing this, it has now allowed them to remain open for the sale of food and other essential items, which helps to ensure the ongoing employment of their staff.

This is just another great example of a use of our plastic chain and how that in a very cost-effective way a business can find a solution to a difficult problem which allows them to continue to operate.
