1600kg complies ADR. Trailers up to 1600kg must use at least 8mm Rated Chain.
Trailers that do not exceed 2.5 tonnes ATM must have at least one safety chain.
This chain is normally fitted between the drawbar of the trailer (or caravan etc) and the towing point of the vehicle.
It is designed to secure the trailer should the tow ball become disengaged and is a compulsory item.
